Earth's Interior





We are now studying the inside of the Earth in class.  As you are finding out, it is not easy to figure out what the inside of the Earth looks like but scientists believe, after a lot of hard work, that they have figured it out! 

So what???

How does knowing the structure of the inside of the Earth help us to understand things happening on the surface?

Right now Colorado has weather of all sorts, hot, cold, snow, rain.    However many scientists predict that our climate will become warmer and drier in the futures.  Think of the plants and animals that live in Colorado now.     

1.  Pick one and explain how that plant or animal might have to evolve in order to continue to live successfully in a drier, warmer environment.  


        OR

2.  Explain how one plant or animal that lives in Colorado now will continue to be successful.   Include what adaptations they have that allow them to survive in a dry, warm place.
