You made it! This is our class blog site! I am a big believer that reflection is a huge part of learning. I use blogging to help my students process their understandings and reflect on what they are learning. My hope is that you will have fun with this forum.
You will periodically be asked to blog about something specific, or about your current understandings about what we are doing in class. There are several things that you need to be aware of when blogging on this forum.
First of all, this is an educational blog, treat it like it is! Spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc... count! This is not a discussion between you and your friends on your cell phone, this is for school! Use spell correct every time and do not use "text speak" when writing on this blog!
Second, everything you write can be seen by others in the class. Be respectful, polite, watch what you say and be supportive of one another! Remember, your words are a reflection of you!
Third, effort is important! When I ask you to write a reflection that means be thorough! You are in 7th grade I expect that your responses will be of 7th grade caliber! Complete sentences, paragraph form, punctuation, and effort in your responses! When I ask for a reflection, that is more than just a few sentences!
Lastly, this is a public forum, for your anonymity you are to use the same format for your name as is used by google docs in the format of "First name, last initial" anytime you use your name. Make sure you do not publish any identifying information or personal pictures of you or your friends.
This week you will simply be responding to this post by explaining what your favorite area of science is and why it is your favorite. Please tell us what in particular you enjoy about that area of science and an example of that area of science in our daily lives. To complete this assignment simply log in using your google docs password and then click on the "# comments" link on the bottom of the blog post, then write your response...
Once you are done you will click on "publish".
Your response should be 3-5+ sentences long! You will not immediately see your response as I need to OK it before it goes live so be patient,do not post multiple times! Once you submit you are done! Have fun blogging!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is probably chemistry. Ever since I was a little kid whether it be making volcanos with family or blowing up a balloon by creating gasses, I loved chemistry. In 5th grade when Mr. Steve Spangler came to my school to blow stuff up, as well as telling us the science behind it, I loved it. My favorite part of chemistry though, would probably be watching the chemicals react together. It has always been so cool, and so much fun to me! So, chemistryis probably my favorite area of science.
My favorite area in science is chemistry. I like to see how things react. It amazes me how some things do different stuff when the connect with another object.
ReplyDeleteI love science. It is one of my favorite subjects next to math. My favorite area of science is the human body. I like it because it is very interesting. When I am older I have to be a doctor. Science is something that I have to be spot on in. The kind of doctor I want to be is a neuro surgeon. I think the brain is very cool so that's why I want to specialize in that field. Well that is my favorite area in science and I can't wait to do more things in this class!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is electricity and the fascinating way it works. I enjoy this area so much because I love experimenting and being able to see what will close the circuit to make electricity run through the system and succeed at its task, or fail and figure out what went wrong. This type of science is used a lot throughout our daily lives. I use it everyday when I am using my iPad mini. Whether or not I am using it as a Planner, or a notebook for math, I am using electricity. Another way we use electricity in our lives is using lights. Lights are being used 95% of our day, whether it is at school from the ceiling, or flashing from an iPhone. Electricity not only helps humans solve tasks, but also makes it much easier to do so! Ever since the light bulb was invented, humans lives have been changed forever. This action will continue to happen throughout the ages until holographic iPhones are invented!

My favorite area in science is zoology. I know that I have never actually learned zoology in a science class, but in sixth grade we did learn some things about animals while we were in outdoor ED. I do know a lot about animals already through there are still so much more to learn. I extremely love animals and have ever since I was four years old. I hope that one day science will include zoology, the study about animals. To conclude zoology has to be my favorite area in science.
ReplyDeleteLife can be described using a lot of words. Scary, sad,or happy can describe life. I like to study biology to learn about life. There is so much to learn, see, and explore. In my opinion, people don't pay much attention to the nature around them. Me, being that I live next to a nature reserve, I pay a lot of attention to nature. I love to study biology to know my surroundings better. That is why I love biology.
ReplyDeleteAs a student, and being in lots and lots of science classes over the past couple years I think that one of my favorite areas of science would have to be chemistry. I think of this particular area because naturally being a kid I like to watch things blow up... Also I just really like the fact of watching things mix together and to see what their reaction would be. I remember when it was around 4th grade we did the classic vinegar and baking soda; it was pretty dang cool. So yea out of all of the things that are really cool I find that one of my favorite areas of science would have to be chemistry.
ReplyDeleteI am so exited to be a part of this Blog, Mr. Andrews. I am most exited about being able to reply to these. It gives me something thoughtful to do. I am also exited about seeing all the posts you have to post. I will certainly love this blog, Mr. Andrews.
ReplyDeleteLately, biology has been one of my favorite areas in science. I enjoy researching the varying chromosomal disorders known as a Trisomy (Down’s syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edward’s syndrome (Trisomy 18), etc.) and being educated on the different systems in the body. And, though I did learn the basics of them in the fifth grade, I am ecstatic both review and go further into detail. I would say that it is my favorite area of science because I find it satisfying to learn about what’s going on in my body, and satisfying to learn what may be going on in others’ bodies. For example, I first started looking up Down’s syndrome because one of my friends’ family owns a Ranch to help children that struggle with that sort of problem. I wanted to learn more about it, and as I was reading about it, I came across the different chromosomal disorders (even some outside of the Trisomy group, such as Turner’s syndrome), which I found intriguing.
ReplyDeleteBiology is the study of living things, which includes you. Biology is basically the area of science where you become acquainted with yourself, and even learn why somebody was born at such a small size or why somebody stayed at such a small size their entire life! Biology is everywhere, and I find every bit of it worthwhile and thought-provoking.
My favorite area of science is biology. This is because I think it is fun to learn about the lives of organisms. Mostly, I like to learn about how animals live and function. Also, learning about all different kinds of plants is fun too.
ReplyDelete-Chloe S.
My favorite area of science would be that I really like learning about the human body because it is really interesting that how bones and muscles work. When I started to learn about it in 5th grade it blew me away. Before I knew all of the bones by memory but now I kind of know them by a little. My other favorite area about science is like the land forms or something, like the oceans, land, etc. I like learning about the earth a lot. Science is my third favorite subject. But I don't give up on any other subjects. I don’t give up on science because I think science could really help me in life and it’s very interesting. My favorite subject would be Math, then Language Arts, and science. I like science especially dissecting and lab work like explosions! Science is important to me like my other subjects but I find science fun and interesting. I’m one happy scientist to be in Mr. Andrews class.
ReplyDeleteI'm Kimberly f. and I think that this is a great way to get the class and other classes to reflect on what they are learning. I like the area of medicine. I like it because I think that's interesting to learn about and fun. I'm glad that we might learn that in class.
ReplyDeleteSpace and everything in it, is so amazing yet so complex. It is so interesting and I try to learn as much of it as I can but I still don't know anything. Learning about stars and asteroids are just amazing to me.Lockheed Martin and NASA are companies that detect when asteroids are coming near earth
ReplyDeleteand they also make big rockets. Also the amazing thing is supernovas and black holes bare so powerful black holes can mess with light. When beetle juice has its super nova it will be seen from earth for weeks. I love space as you know it.
My favorite area of science is the hands on parts. I like to get in science and not just sit around and listen to someone talk about it. Seeing demonstrations and doing activities personally is the best part of science. I like doing experiments and some times dissecting things but I don't love the smell of dissection. All in all my favorite area of science is definitely the hands on experiments, games and dissections.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is experimenting. It is my favorite because I think you have to first figure out what you are going to do and how so I feel like you have to earn the right to experiment. That is why my favorite area of science is experimenting!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like science because it teaches me how different things work and fit together. I like how science tells us about plant, animals, weather and human health. I also like to do in science experiments. I was able to dissect a squid which was slimy and fun.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my favorite area of science is either the human body, or space. These two areas of science are very broad and both are extremely interesting to study. The human body is just really fun to learn about to see what different blood cells do, or what the inside of the heart looks like. I especially love dissecting things. Space is also very interesting to learn about tons of different stages stars and planets go through. There’s a lot more to study in the topic of space, but I really like learning about distant planets or stars and watching them explode! My two favorite areas of science are definitely the human body and space. - Jack L.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Andrews,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is energy. Energy interest me because it all around us. For example if you put a speaker on max volume you can feel the ground surrounding it shaking; that is energy transferring to the ground and moving around. Another reason energy interest me because almost everywhere we go we see energy transferring and stopping. An example is a rubber band getting stretched out, which is called elastic energy. Elastic energy is potential energy stored inside a stretchy object like a rubber band I explained. I hope you have a nice afternoon/night/day/morning and please consider to ask the present condition than the forever condition like I might like evolution instead of energy in the mere school year.
From your student,
Randy C.
My favorite area or study in science is the study of organisms in and where they live in.I think the study is called Ecology. This area of science fascinates me because I like to learn about how nocturnal and diurnal animals adapt and hunt for their food.In 5th grade my classmates and I got to dissect a cow’s eyeball and a lambs lung.I think I prefer learning about terrestrial animals (land animals) rather than aquatic animals. But if I had to choose another choice of a favorite study in science it would probably be chemistry. I really like this subject or area in science because I like to see how chemicals react when they come into contact with one another. But it’s always fun to see the teacher explode things. I think 7th grade science will be fun but difficult.I can’t wait until the red rocks field trip.
ReplyDeleteAlex S.
I like geology. Because i like rocks and i think the rock are fun bacause you explore, the rocks and the last you find where do the rock came from.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is the human body. I like it because I think it is cool to learn how the body works and what can happen. I did learn some of the human body in 5th grade and I thought it was great!I am happy to be able to learn more of the human body this year and I cant wait!
ReplyDeleteAfter being in science for a couple of years, I have learned that my favorite area in science is chemistry. I just like to blow stuff up and its fascinating to me how you can mix different substances and end up with an explosion or just something really cool that happens. That is why my favorite area in science is chemistry.
ReplyDelete-Savannah D.
Love to learn about the picture of the mars senescent it looks pretty cool when the things flow away from the "thing" and i love to learn about human body because it just.
ReplyDeleteI like to study about human body because it's fun to know about something.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is studying in sea life. Because its my favorite I love sea animals and I love studying them. What I enjoy the most about sea animals is that i'm so fascinated in them and its so fun to learn new things and new sea animals that I haven't learned or seen before. And the area/study of sea animals or sea life in our daily lives is called biology. And s omeday when I grow up I hope to be a mireinbiologist.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is learning about the human body and doing dissections. I enjoy learning about the human body because it gives you a chance to learn about what is in you body and how it is working. You could even learn about parts of your body that you never knew about! Like a bone or a system in your body. Going along with the human body, I enjoy dissections. Dissections give you a chance to learn about what is in your body. The dissections have you really look close into the parts. They also are really fun to do but sometimes disgusting. These are my favorite parts of science.

I love to learn about human body
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is chemistry because my whole life I love to watch explosions, from volcanos to vinegar and baking soda. I think that chemistry is also my favorite because I like to watch chemicals combine to make one thing and the explosions that happen etc. this year I would love to work as groups and make our own explosions. thanks Mr.Andrews for being my favorite teacher so far.

I like the human body. I like the human body because it's like learning new things about yourself. In the past few years i learned many things about the human body like an adult body has 206 bones in it. Anyways this part of science relates to do with our daily lives because it is our body.
ReplyDeleteI love science exspeacialy when we learn about the human body.I find it so intresting that I can learn about what going on inside my body even though I cant see it. I also find expreiments are so instresting I love to to disect thing and adding chemicals together will probably the newest thing in science. I like working in groups aswell but sometime I find it helpful to work alone on somthing to. Im looking foward to this year in science with Mr.Andrews
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of math is space. I like space because you get to learn about things much farther than just your regular Earth. I think I really started liking space when I was in 5th grade. I started to get super curious and so we had a space project and it was super fun. I relly love science and I think that its because i've had super nice teachers, and so far I feel like I'm gonna have a lot of fun. Thanks Mr. Andrews.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject in science is Anatomy. I like Anatomy because I find the structures of the human body fascinating. I particularly enjoy dissecting because I find it interesting to see how different body parts work.
ReplyDeleteWe use Anatomy in our everyday lives to understand how our muscles allow us to do physically activities.

Probably my favorite part of science is biology and animal dissections because I like learning about how animals live and act around one another. I like animal dissections because I think it is interesting to see how animals' bodies work compared to the human body. I found it fun to learn about the origins of animals because it seems fun to learn about how the start and what new breeds can come of two animals mating. I am excited to learn about these things in science, and I cannot wait!
Science is one of the only subjects that you get the chance to explore. I love having that chance to explore. There are endless possibilities to what you can do in science. There are so many categories. If I would have to pick one thing, though, it would have to be space and astronomy sciences. I think that they give me the largest opportunity to explore the unknown. I also would love to have a job in spacecraft/rocket engineering so space sciences really bring that dream to life. I have always looked forward to learning about planets and space more than any other part of science that I have learned. When I look at websites like NASA or National Geographic, it is so interesting seeing the new projects and what is going on in space. For example, I followed the Curiosity rover on Mars in April or May from NASA because I liked seeing about it, not because it was a grade or a project. In this past year I have learned to truly love space and astronomy sciences. An example of this science in our daily lives is the satellites that we see at night. All solar powered items and telescopes were also made with the this type of science too. I think that the possibilities in space can open up a whole new world (literally).
ReplyDeleteI have always been interested in science and then I met Mr.Andrews and how passionate he is about science.I enjoy learning about the human body because it's interesting learn about things you never knew about yourself. It's like having a deeper definition of yourself. It is nice to know that I have a teacher teaching about something that they love.
ReplyDeleteOut all things in science, I definitely find that life systems are very captivating. I think that everything about bodies, including the human body is very interesting. To me, I think it is amazing how everything fits together and works. I think the most fascinating part is how many jobs each system gets done and that most systems we could not live without. Without the most vital parts of anything in our body none of us would be here. It took years and years of natural selection to have everything in our body work like it does. Our bodies know how to do everything perfectly and it is all built into us now. In order to live we simply need oxygen, air and food. Our bodies can convert those things to energy without even having to think about it or do work for any part of it. Bodies do everything for us from fighting germs to keeping us breathing. Our bodies are amazing machines simply because they can keep us living. Those are a few reasons why I find the human body so fascinating.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is chemistry. I find it amazing how you can just add a specific type of liquid or solid to another and a chemical reaction happens.Ever since 5th grade I've always been more interested in what kind of other things you can combine together to make a chemical reaction. I hope to see more chemical reactions this year.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is learning about Space. At night, I love looking up at the sky and finding the Little Dipper, Big Dipper and the North Star. The sky is so pretty when the stars and moon are out. I am fascinated with the planets/solar system and how life has been discovered on a few of the planets. That would be so cool to see. I would like to learn more about the Mars Rover, because I can't believe that this a billion dollar machine that moves a few meters a day looking for life, this is mind boggling!

I like science because it is very interesting and I like how it makes you think. I also enjoy learning about the solar system and the solar system around us.-BrandonBush
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is probly earth science because I just love learnig new things about the planet that we live on. I think its just really cool to see how find out how plants and animal adapat to there sroundings and how they are bult to protcect themselves from there natural predators. Also it's cool hows plants adpdt to there surongings.

This year will be looking forward to dissecting the heart and lungs and other things. I will like to study the human body. I love to learn about that. An other thing I would like to do is exploiting some like a watermelon and how much pressure you need. This is what I would like to do this year. And I am so glad to have you as my teacher this year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is astronomy because I like to look up at the stars. Also I learned a lot about it in 4th grade. Also I am looking forward to later in the year when we get to dissect different animals ans such. Also i am looking forward to meeting new people in science class.I am also really looking forward to chemistry later the year
ReplyDeleteGabe O,
This year I am really looking forward to dissecting things like lungs heart and other stuff like that. I am also looking forward to meeting new people in my science class. I am also looking hoping we learn astronomy because I really like astronomy because I learned so much about it in 4th grade and i hope to lean more. I am mostly looking forward to chemistry because i really like to blow stuff up.

ReplyDeleteScience has always been one of my favorite subjects, but what I really like is the human body. The human body is so captivating and so confusing at the same time that when I figure something out about the human body I feel a satisfaction. My mother is an ER nurse and is a big influence on me towards the human body. When she gets home from work she tells me all of the stories and how they were injured or what sickness they had. I love science but I really enjoy the human body.
My favorite area of science is astronomy because I love knowing what happens outside of our earth and the fact that space is endless is just mind blowing. I also like learning about how outer space effects us on the earth and learning the recent discoveries that astronauts make.
ReplyDeleteMY favorite part of science this year will be be the human body.
ReplyDeleteI Like learning about bones, muscles, the brain, the heart.I also like using technology during science. That is what I want learn in science.
My favorite part of science would have to be zoology. Because I have a deep passion for animals. And with that passion I would love to become a veterinarian. And as vet you need to know a lot about where they live and how there body works. And that is why my favorite area of science is zoology.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is probably the study of geology. I like geology because there is so much more to our earth than meets the eye. Just to think that on the outside is an ordinary rock, but on the in side there could be crystals. I don't think i'm going to grow up to be a geologist but i still think it is very int interesting stuff to know.

The human body is what I'm looking forward to learning about this year. I don't know what it is about the human body that interest me so much. I love it probable because when I was little my brother was learning about the human body and I would sit there for like an hours looking at the pictures and reading his books. I love learn about all the systems the circulatory system, respiratory system, muscular system, nervous system and many more. I am so glad that we are learning about the human body this year because last year we didn't dive into it. I cant wait to learn more about the human body and how it works.
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite area of science is astronomy. I like astronomy because it is a rare area of science that we don’t know much about. Astronomy has a lot more applications than just finding out about space, many inventions have been made in the process of making spacesuits and space ships etc….. Sunglasses and different kind’s shoes have been invented just because of space travel. Finally my favorite thing about astronomy is in a way, it is the future of mankind.

ReplyDeleteAs a daughter of two doctors, I really enjoy learning about the human body. I like to learn about different systems, the muscles, the bones, cells, etc. I like to learn about the human body because everyone in the world is different. Some have diseases, sickness, or even just their own secrets about their own health. I really want to become a doctor when I become older. I might want to become a radiologist, anesthesiologist, a trauma surgeon, etc. My dad is a trauma surgeon, so I asked him what kind of surgeries he did. Today he did appendix, colectomy, and partial lung resection. He also has a computer on which there are pictures of some of his past surgeries. I look and try to name each part by looking at the forms and textures.

My favorite area in science is astronomy, in other words the study of stars. I like this type of science because it is so interesting to me; the reason it’s so fun is because outer space is so unknown to us. Sure we have discovered millions of stars, constellations and a few planets. But there is so much more out there that we are unsure about, space is so big that our rockets can’t even go to the end of space, if there even is an end to space. What I enjoy about astronomy is not only what I just told you but I like the beauty to it. I like the fact that the stars change position drastically just from month to month but it’s incredible to look at the night sky in January take a picture of it then in December go outside look at the starry sky and take another picture then compare how different they are from each other. An example of how astronomy is used or even shown for that matter in our daily lives is because when the sky changes from blue to pitch black all the stars come out and you can see them all. When it’s night time scientist can go out with their telescopes and try to discover new things. There are so many reasons to enjoy astronomy, those just happen to be mine.

My favorite part of science is learning about the human body. I like learning that because there are different stuff you could learn like all the 9 systems. The most important body parts of the body's . What's the name of the body parts. And how they all work to make a system. I really like learning that because its fun and its awesome to be learning new things about the human body that I never new . I hope this year well be awesome and I am so lucky to be with Mr.Andrews :) .
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part in science is studying the human body. I like the human body because my mom is a nurse and I like to know what she is talking about. Also, it interests me how the different parts of the human body function. I also like how in the human body everything has to function properly for the body to live
ReplyDeleteAstronomy is my favorite area of science to study. I like learning about astronomy because I have always though it was fascinating how stars are made. One of my favorite things to do at night is to look up at the stars and find consolations. What is most mind blowing about astronomy is the planets and how they land rovers on them and be able to take mind blowing pictures of things like the surface of Mars. I think it would be a lot of fun to build something that lands on another planet. The cool thing also about astronomy is that there is probably many more things to learn and discover. To conclude, I think that astronomy is awesome.

My favorite type of science is life science! I love learning about how amazing living things are and how they work! The human body is so fascinating and one of my favorite living things. Weget to discover new things about it every day! I also think its awesome to learn about plants and how many different types there are! Animals are also one of my favorites because they are very similar to the human body! I hope we get to learn abbout all of these this year!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is biology the study of life to be specific I love to learn about plants because I use my plant knowledge for all of my plants at home. The most fascinating thing to me is how different plant take different care. I also like how plants get their energy, and how the plants adapt to new places quickly.

I am so exited to learn about astronomy this year. I have always had a passion about the sky and space, like what are planets, what are they made of and same with stars. All of the other times I learned about space was not a "deep" as I am hoping this year will be. I like to learn about what stars are made of and what makes them do the things they do, like get older and change color as that happens. One other thing that interests me about space is how all of the planets and solar systems were discover and what made them think of doing something like putting someone in a rocket and putting them up in space. That is what I am exited to learn about this year in science.

My favorite area in science is chemistry. I find chemistry really interesting, one thing why I like chemistry is that I like seeing how liquids and solids react when there put to other ones and make a explosion or a chemical reaction. I've never liked chemistry because I always thought that it was hard. But in 6th grade I started understanding it a little bit more and found it interesting. So I hope to learn this year about chemistry and get more interested in it.

My favorite area in science in astronomy. I love the stars, universe and the amazing, glowing galaxies. I like learning about the milky way and beyond and seeing the history of our solar system. I think it's amazing that Earth isn't the only planet capable of supporting life, and that we aren't the only life out there.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject in science is astronomy. I love learning about the shining stars and amazing galaxies, and the different types of galaxies as well. I think that knowing we aren't the only life in this universe interests me. Seeing the galaxies, planets and stars amazes me, and whenever an eclipse, planet appears in the sky, or when comets go over the sky, I'm always there to see it. Unless, of course, I don't know about it and/or sleeping. So, know you see the subject that interests me the most.
ReplyDeleteThis year I will be looking forward the chemistry aspects of science. I have always been so interested in how things react with each other. For example, in fourth grade, I got a Steve Spangler book called "Naked Eggs and Flying Potatoes". In that book was the experiment where you make a coca-cola geyser with mentos. I was always so interested in why the coca-cola would explode out of the bottle for a few mentos. I am also looking forward to the biology aspect of science. I just love to know how our bodies work, how an animal's body works, and how living things work in general. I like to know what's in my body, what's going on in my body, and why it is happening. I am also looking forward to having you as a teacher!
ReplyDeleteSpace is the best area of science. I think this because just learning that there is so many planets, stars, galaxies, solar systems, etc. out there to discover. I think that the coolest part of space is that there is no gravity and that you would just float there forever. To me I always thought that earth was the biggest thing ever but there are still a lot bigger things out there to find. That is another reason why I am interested in space. Plus, I have got to give credit to NASA for all the stuff they did in space discovering things and what not. That is my favorite area of science.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is physics because physics is motion. Physics help us explain how things move and why they move. The thing i enjoy most about physics is Sir Isaac Newton's Three Laws of Motion. Everyday we see physics. Whenever we see any motion or even gravity is pulling the ball down, and normal force is keeping the ball from falling through the ground. objects being still, we see physics. If you see a ball not going anywhere and it is still, you still see physics. Even though it may not seem like it, forces are acting upon the ball. For one, gravity is pulling the ball down to the ground, and normal force is keeping the ball from falling through the ground.

My favorite area in science is dissecting! Last year we got to dissect a squid. We got to look at its legs, tentacles, ink sack, gender, eyeball lens, and brain. Last year I thought that it would be gross touching and feeling different parts of the squid, but as the dissection went on I looked forward to going to science every day to get deeper in the dissection! I like dissection because when I actually get to touch and feel and use certain types of tools, it makes me feel like a real scientist!
ReplyDeleteI hope the dissection that we do this year will just as fun as last years, because I'm rally looking forward to it!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things to learn about in science is the human body. I enjoy learning about this because I like learning how different parts of the body work. For example, I really liked when we learned about the respiratory system in fifth grade because we actually got to dissect a lambs lung since it is so similar to ours to see how it works. I also liked learning about the human eye because I learned about so many parts of the eye that I didn't even know about. In all, one of my favorite things to learn about in science is the human body for many reasons.

My favorite subject to study in science is the human nervous system. I like this one because I am very interested in how our minds interact with our body and how we response to certain actions. I think our brain is very interesting and that there is always more to discover about it. Therefore, I want to be part of those discoveries and learn more about why and how we do the things we do. Leaning about the nervous system is important because we need to know about the things our bodies and minds do so we can take care of ourselves. We also just need to be knowledgeable about about the way our bodies work.

My favorite field of science is astronomy. I like this field of science because I'm interested in our solar system and other solar systems. Also I'm Interested in how this can get into space and what happens to those things after they get into space. I also find it interesting how small we are compared to the universe.
ReplyDeleteThis year I am looking forward to learning about the science of earth and space. In the past years this has been my favorite subject to learn about in science.I know many facts about earth and space but there are still many for me to learn.I like learning about how animals and plants can adapt to different habitats around the world. It is amazing how animals and plants can adapt to different habitats.I look forward to learning about the human body I know many facts about the human body, but there are many more facts for me to learn.I am so glad that you are my science teacher this year.

My favorite area in science is the human body. I enjoy learning about the human body because I find it very interesting that our body is made up of different systems. My favorite system in the body is the respiratory system because I love knowing how our body receives oxygen and disposes of carbon dioxide. The heart is one of the most important organs in our body and is used 24/7. I also enjoy learning about the nervous system because there are certain parts of our brain that control pain and some parts of the brain that control emotions. I love learning about the our spinal cord and how each cord goes/ leads to a different part of our body. This is why the human body is my favorite area of science. ~ Ava K.

ReplyDeleteI am not the kind of person that likes science. However I love biology I think it is so awesome how biologists tag and track animals. I also think its simply amazing how they figure out the data of animals in remote places. Last year I learned biology and I really was so amazed and wanted to learn more. I also like dissecting things like squid, cows eyeballs, and sheep's repertory system. Overall I am not a fan of science other than biology but will try to get As and hopefully will. Wes P.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the human body this year.I love this subject because you can learn a lot of things in yourself. You can also discover new things in your body that you didn't know was there, also we can dissect some of the different animals that we can. This will be an awesome science year.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite subject in science is Medicine and the psycho, I love the way the mind works I also like seeing what medicines are need in the certain operations done on the body. I would love too learn more about the human body in any way shape or form this year because that is what grabs my attention the most!

I would have to say that my favorite area of science because I love seeing how different chemicals react to each other. I also love chemistry because in 6th grade we did a unit about the periodic table and also how protons on neutrons of different elements connect with each other. I also loved going on the i-pads in 6th grade and building atoms. That is why chemistry is my favorite area of science.

My favorite thing to learn to learn in science is the human body. Human body fascinates me so much because I love learning about different parts of the body. I know that we started to learn about the human body in fifth grade but I am excited to learn even more about it this year. I also can't wait to dissect the brain, heart, lungs and other things this year because I love doing hands on activities. This is why the human body is my favorite part of science.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject in science I biology. In biology I like to learn about plant life then use that knowledge for my plants at home. The most fascinating thing to me is to learn how different plants get their energy, and where that energy comes from. I also like to learn how plants adapt to new homes.

My favorite subject in science is doing the experiments. I like experiments because they can be fun while you also learn things when you do them. I think that that is cool and I like to have fun. But learning is very important too. I like when they are mashed together so that you can have both at a time. I think experiments are fun because you get to do something and be active. In daily life you might need to do experiments for figuring things out, and scientists need them to learn things about what they are doing. You might also need an experiment to see if something works so that you could see if it is dangerous or not. That is my favorite part of science.
My favorite part of science would probably be the human body. Ever since I was little I have wanted to be a surgeon and I still do. I think it would be so fun to learn different parts of the human I didn't even know about. In 4th grade I actually started learning about the human body and I was instantly hooked! I knew that I would love learning about it. I know it will be fun learning about the human body this year and I can’t wait!!

My favorite area of science would by far be learning about the human body. It was in the fourth grade that I first got introduced to learning about the human body when we had a bones and muscles unit. In fifth grade we learned about some of the the body systems, and I realized that I found it very enjoyable and interesting to learn about! I particularly liked learning about the circulatory system. This unit included things about how the blood traveled throughout the body, and how the heart worked to pump it through. Along with this it included stuff about how the lungs work too. I remember that our fifth grade class got to dissect a lamb’s heart, lungs and trachea. Unfortunately, I was on vacation during this time so I did not get to participate, but I still didn’t enjoy learning about the system any less! I also found the nervous system very interesting. There were so many things about the brain that I didn’t know about! I just love how we can learn about things that our body do that we didn’t have knowledge of before. I think that the human body is a fascinating thing, and learning about it made me appreciate it even more!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science would have to be Astronomy. Space is so fascinating due to the fact that we have explored it over and over again, but still have so little knowledge about it. Every star, every planet, every moon, is an opening to infinite possibilities. The thought of that (to me), is just jaw-dropping. Not only that, but stars are beautiful, and they never seize to make me wonder.

There are a lot of parts to science, and they are all a lot of fun. But my favorite part of science this year will be the dissection part. I absolutely love dissecting things and seeing the insides of different living things. I probably want to be a surgeon when I grow up because I love seeing insides of people and how they work. Yes, I know it sounds disgusting, but I'm absolutely fascinated by that stuff! I think that it's important to understand how the body works, and by starting by seeing how animal bodies work would be a perfect starter towards a surgeon career!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited to learn about science this year. It's one of my favorite subjects at school. I really enjoy learning about the human body and space. I hope to have fun and learn lots with my class mates.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is chemistry. I like chemistry because its all about reactions explotions and fighting viruses. In our daily life chemistry saves cancer patents makes new products and tests reactions like dry ice and water. I realy hope we learn chemistry this year and we get to see live ction reactions.
ReplyDeleteThis year I will be looking forward to dissection. I think dissection is my favorite because it is hands on. In class I get bored listening to teachers just talking and showing us things on the computer. Instead of learning about what hearts, lungs ect. look like, I like to actually see it in person. I am able to remember certain facts and things better! I just think it is amazing that I am able to find out myself what is in what I am dissecting. I am super excited to be dissecting so many things this year, and I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science would be biology. It interests me to learn the science of life and living matter around us on Earth. Also, the animals around us and how they interact with each other and their daily lives in their environment. I'd like to learn about animals and nature, such as with plants and their growth. I'd also like to dissect different parts of an animals body and compare the animals body from our body. I love learning about natural science with animals and well, nature.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is astronomy, in other words the study of stars. I like the fact that the stars change position drastically just from month to month but it’s incredible to look at the night sky in January take a picture of it then in December go outside look at the star light sky and take another picture then compare how different they are from each other.

My favorite part of science is probably space. I think that space is very interesting like for example learning about planets is very cool and finding out if there is other life on other planets.Another thing i'm fascinated about is the Mars Rover I think its cool that its collecting all this information, to find out if there is life and if there's water on mars. Finally thats my favorite part of science.

My favorite field of science is astronomy. Ever since I was young, I've always been fascinated with stars and planets. One day, I would like to learn more and make discoveries about black holes. There are so many questions about what black holes do and if there is some trace of what they swallow up. (Which there is because it would break a certain law of physics if other wise). That topic was debated and known as the black hole war. I would like to learn about astronomy this year and expand my knowledge on this topic.

I love science. It is my favorite subject in school. My favorite area in science is the topic on the human body. I find the human body very interesting. When I was in 2nd grade, I wanted to be a doctor so that’s when I started reading books about the human body. I found books in my class library (the ones appropriate for a 7-8 year old), started reading them and I grew from there. I am really curious and interested to know the different parts of the body and the different organs. How each organ works and how important they are to our body system. I really look forward when we take this up in class.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite type of science is zoology because i love animals. I also like zoology because i have pets and they are important to me. Thats why i like zoology !!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is hematology. The fact that my own body is completely filled to the rim with knowledge of this subjects flabbergasts me. I love that the study of hematology is connected with oncology. It is quite an aspiration of mine to help discover a cure for cancer. With out the knowledge of hematology, people would die everyday. The blood cells, hemoglobins, blood proteins have a very important job and I just want to discover the most I cant about them.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is Zoology because i love animals. another reason i like Zoology is because i have pets and they mean a lot to me. Thats why my favorite area of science is Zoology!!!
ReplyDeleteScience is one of my favorite classes. My favorite thing in science is chemistry. I like to study how one change can create a whole difference in certain surroundings. One thing I like about science is there is always a problem that can be solved, and there is always a question to be answered. I would love to learn about biology this year and would like to learn about our brain. Science is a great subject that I cant wait to learn about.
ReplyDeleteThis year i am excited to learn about the human body. The human body is one of my favorite parts of science.I love the human body because it is such a complex system.I also look forward to dissecting some interesting things.I am looking forward to having you as my teacher this year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part about science is geology. I like geology because I think there is more to this earth than meets the eye. It is crazy to think on the outside of some rocks it looks ordinary, but on the inside there are crystals. I am glad to have you as my science teacher this year. I hope we will do a lot of fun things!
ReplyDeleteDear mr. andrews I love science like you hopefully I wish I can find cure for your back so you don't have pain no more. I'm so excited about the human and how it works i'm looking forward to this year and next year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is when it comes to a animal like an example last year i with your evil twin brother i opened a squid and poked his eyes with a whole lots of tools and it stunk anyways feel better . :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area about science is geology. I like geology because I like to do stuff that involves the earth. Some examples are ores such as diamond ,ruby ,emerald and gold. Some other things tat i enjoy that evolves geology is learning aoout how these ores work and what they are used for.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is biology the study of the human body. I enjoy biology because i like learning new things about myself and hope to be a doctor someday. The human body interests me because our body is strange because our skin is rubber and without bones we would look like a pile of jelly. I enjoy biology and I would like to keep learning it every day.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite section of science is geology. Geology is my favorite because learning about the world and all it's features is just amazing. All my knowledge about the world is a little poor, but I know there is a lot to know/learn about the world. Who wouldn't want to learn about the world? If I were to travel I would want to learn about the world so I actually know where I am going. I hope this year I learn a lot of cool facts!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is biology. I find life on both Earth and other planets very exciting. I love studying animals and microbes. I am very interested in seeing what I can learn in this class this year. Hopefully I will learn a lot!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject in science is the human body because all the parts in a humans body the heart Amazes me because all the bloods gets pumped into everything just because of the heart another thing that amazes me is the lungs because that's is how you breathe
ReplyDeleteSincerely, Kane A per.7
My favorite subject of science is getting to dissect stuff like last year we got to dissect a squid
ReplyDeletei enjoy it because i like seeing what is inside of what ever it is that i am dissecting. It is fascinating what is in side of us because it is alive when it is closed but when you open it most of the time it is dead when you open it though. when we got to dissect the squid we had to cut it open and take out the eyeball all in the middle of the eyeball there was a little ball it was like a little pebble that was my favorite part of the dissection. I hope we do a lot this year
My favorite part of science is the human body because it shows what is inside of me. I can relate to this because my dad works for a company called muscle sound and he travels around the world selling the product telling about the blood pressure in your muscles. It is important to know about how long your muscles can last in a sport. I love to learn about the human body and everything in it.
ReplyDeleteCason per 3.
My favorite part of science is the human body because it has a bunch of systems. You learn how all the systems work in the human body they show you what the body parts are called and what are the most important parts of the body. My favorite system to learn is the nervous system because you learn about how the nerves work and why are they important in the body. I really enjoy learning about this and I hope this will be a awesome year and I am so lucky to be with Mr.Andrews .
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is dissecting the heart because i i am curious of what it looks like
ReplyDeleteMy favorite erea of science is dissecting the cow heart because i am curious of
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science is the human body because I believe the human body is one (out many other topics in science) of the most interesting topic in science. My favorite thing about the human body in particular is the brain, because I want to know every thing the brain is able to do and how it is able to send a 'message' to the particular nerve. I would go to the college of National Institutes Of Health if I got the chance to learn about the brain, that's how far I would go and how much effort I would put into it! I think I know a lot about the brain but I want to know more!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is science because i like how science works. the thing that i'm excited about is the human body because I wonder how does it function and what could help us through life.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part about science is the dissecting part like last year we got to dissect a squid that was so fun but it stunk really bad. this year I ma really looking forward to dissecting whatever we are dissecting.
ReplyDeleteWhy favorite part of science is biology because I like learning about living things like Animals like the cheetah because of its amazing speed being the fasted land animal in the world with it's amazing speed of 75 miles per hour. It is so fun learning new things about biology and it is out doors. I hope that we well learn new things about biology later in the year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is biology because you learn about living things like the cheetah with its amazing speed with 75 miles per hour being the fastest land animal today or like the Elephant being one of the heavyset creatures I hope that we will learn biolagy later in the year.
ReplyDeletemy favorite thing in science is chemistry because the explosions. Then the chemical are so cool to see and mess with
ReplyDeleteI would be a zoologist because I can really work and learn more about them. Which helps me understand them better. And it can build a trust.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I love about science is the dissecting. Dissecting is so cool because you get to see how the body works. When you cut it open it doesn't work anymore. I enjoy doing experiments with robots that is really fun to me. I love to like put together thing like things with bots that is why I want to take science in high school.
ReplyDeleteI picked the picture about sports I think it's related to science because scientists figured out how the balls are suppose to be. For example a bowling ball it's suppose to be heavy to push all the pins down. Also because scientists like to do all sorts of experiments with sport balls. I think that scientist like to compare stuff. For example a soccer ball to a volleyball or a basketball to a golf ball. That's what I think about how science is related to sports or science to different kind of sport balls. Kimberly F.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of Science is Space and The Human Body. I like those subjects because it is truly amazing how they both work. Like in space, without space, Earth wouldn't be here! And without the human body, we wouldn't be here!
ReplyDeletelearning about body makes me sick now just because of the digusting part in side. I thing experiment is cool will should build a robot that talks and tells you answer when you need help.
ReplyDeleteScience is involved with the the sport balls because science helps us throw, catch and run by the right angles and measurements. One day I was watching this Lebron James questions thing and there was one where they said there is a force in you hand to help you throw and grip in you hands from dirt and other materials from your hand to help you catch. There is also many measurements and angles involved in sports like in baseball when you hit you have time it correctly or you can miss the ball.

ReplyDeleteI think that many parts of science are in food such as the 5 senses.
The 5 senses are in science because you smell the food you see the food you touch the food you taste the food however you do not hear the food :D. You also can do experiments with food such as if you leave food out for a long time it will get mold on it. If you do experiments with vinegar and baking soda something awesome will happen. Food is also part of culture and culture has a lot to do with science. Those are reasons i think that science is related to food.
I picked the pictures about sports because athletics have a great part of science in them. Sports are pretty much based off science because it incorporates speed, power, and how the brain can push the body to go farther. lots of sports such as football, or soccer account for velocity and speed. Science is helpful in sports because once you finish finding a problem you have the ability to fix it.

ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I chose the picture of the fruit, because I noticed that it was one of the least picked pictures, and I feel that I can explain it very well. If you think of science, what do you think of? I think of all the different types of science, such as biology, atomic, nuclear and many more than I can think of. But chemistry comes into play in most of these pictures, and espically in this one. Now I’m not a chemist, and I would probably offend many of them if I tried to explain it, but in fruit I know that there are a lot of chemical compounds mixed together in them and its what causes it’s nutrition and flavor. If I recall correctly, there is also fusion going on inside some types of food, mostly twinkies. One study that I found about twinkies, along with the fact that they and cockroaches are some of the few thing that could survive a nuclear outbreak, is that if you stick them in an airtight chamber for 50 years, the inside atoms and fusion breaks down into green goop. And on that lovely not, that is the science in food.

My favorite area in science is Chemistry. I think it is because in this area of science you get to do a lot of more activities in chemistry. Just getting to do experiments and getting to watch things is a heap of fun. I also think if we do things in chemistry it makes more sense to understand and think if we can do it too so then we have a better understanding in different activities.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of science would probably be paleontology. I like this because I love dinosaurs, and I always have. They are fascinating, and it’s cool because they were here on earth LONG before we were. There are so many different types to learn about. My favorite dinosaurs are the coelophysis and pterodactyl because I love birds and the coelophysis is small and quick, just like me! So that is my favorite part of science, and I am excited to see what this year has to offer!

My favorite type of science is chemistry. My favorite type of science is chemistry because it is the branch of science that deals with the identification of the substances of which matter is composed. I like that about chemistry because there are a lot of ways you can study that in chemistry. Rachel.E
ReplyDeleteI like bilology, the brian because I really like how your brain can do so many things at one time. I also think it is really complacted because of what it does every single day.
ReplyDeleteThis why I like the brain.
I like marine biology, because fish and other under sea life is really cool and I've always liked the titanic and her sisters and sharks are pretty cool to and had salt water fish before and they are really fascinating and expensive. I also like astronomy it is a cool subject to and and can't wait to learn it i like space because learning about planets is really cool.
ReplyDeletelearning about living, non living and dead thing was fun and now we all know that. By the way have a great summer.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite topic in science that we have been learning about these few weeks is about how to separate living things, non living things and dead things into separate piles depending on what they are. Like for example; on friday we had pictures of bacteria, lichen, trees etc and we had to separate them into three different piles. depending on if you can touch, taste. or look at them. I thought that you can only look at lichen but you can actually touch lichen. This is my favorite topic this week because I learn new things I can touch, look and taste. I might not be sure what all of them are (lichen) but I can learn about it and it may help me be a better scientist learning what category what goes in which. :)

The scientific method is very important. We learned about using vocabulary and the steps in the scientific method. We learned about graphs and how to use them. We also learned what IV and DV are. IV stands for independent variable this is what changes in an experiment. DV stands for dependent variable this is what you are measuring in an experiment. Both of these are involved in a scientific table. A scientific table is a way to collect data. It includes the iv and dv, the test numbers the averages and range. Averages are the main amount of something. Ranges are the range of numbers in the test results.
ReplyDeletemy favorite part of science is when we get to do experimenting.I feel this becuse i helps me learn better.when i work with people i can understand.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part in science would be chemistry because it lets you get involved in stuff like types of energy and notes that can help us later on. also when we do chemistry it helps us understand what is going on and what happens when we learn about Chemistry. Chemistry is my favorite because of how it is just so fun and complicated.

To be a scientist have to get a good grade always doing your homework and always thinking smart and always think before saying or write something. Scientist is everywhere to help people solve problem is more efficient manner. It can also help you land better job and increase your chances for promotions at work. Everyday decision making i such as where to shop, may benefit from using the scientific method of thinking.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science is Earth history. I really enjoy learning about the beginning of Earth and how it became the only planet that can support life. I also love learning about Pangea, one of the many supercontinents in Earth's history. I think it is really cool how the continents moved around to become the continents they are today. This is what I am most excited about learning this year.

My favorite area in Science is Mixtures. I really like mixtures because I like mixing stuff together and see what happens. Sometimes when me and my brother were home alone we would always take soap, water, milk, ect and mix all of them together. I like to mix stuff together because you always get something new and it is an adventure, or a mystery. I can’t wait to learn more about mixtures.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area in science is probably either chemistry or experimenting. Chemistry because i like to see things blow up, and chemical reactions. Also, because i've always wanted to be one of those nerdy chemists from the cartoons, i think that would be fun. Expermenting because in 6th grade, my teacher would always do this kind of stuff, and he would make it funny somehow. One time, funny story, he said,'' iodine can't hurt you...'' and he put a drop of iodine on his finger, then he screamed saying,''oww... my FINGER'' and he would laugh, and it scared the buiscuts out of the class. Anyway, i like to see and hear all of the things that we do in science.

My favorite thing in science is that we are talking about dinosaur extincts and want they eat and how the asteroid hit the dinosaur and why the T Rex have little hand.
ReplyDeleteThe Yellow sheet is fun because we are getting to learn new things and the dinosaur extincts. And it's being fun learning dinosaurs their baby their food. Mr Andrew we should learn About How the dinosaur grow up and look the same has their Dad and not there mom?
